Mr Samuel Winton
Biography
I am postgraduate researcher working for the Revolution Plastics team at the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú since it’s creation in 2020, and recently commencing my PhD studies 'Exploring the development and outcomes of the global plastics treaty' at the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú and the University of Surrey. After studying at the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú for a BSc in Geological Hazards and MSc in Crisis and Disaster Management, my main research focus within the Revolution Plastics team has been working with communities and a broad range of stakeholders to tackle environmental challenges, particularly plastic pollution. More recently I have been conducting work with international organisations with a view to creating policies to tackle the global plastics problem, and facilitate sustainable development, with extensive engagement in the Global Plastic Treaty process. This engagement has included working with UoPs Global Plastic Policy Centre on the production of policy briefs and reports to inform the process, as well as attending the negotiations as an accredited observer.
