Barrister (Common law) and Civil/Commercial Mediator

Sannah was called to the Bar in November 2019 and successfully completed Pupillage in October 2023. Since then, she has practiced as a barrister in the core areas practiced by College Chambers. She is also a civil and commercial mediator and conflict coach. Her journey into the legal profession has been shaped by her commitment to advocacy and her desire to make justice accessible to all.  Sannah aims to share her practical knowledge on becoming a barrister, mentoring and guiding students from underrepresented and diverse backgrounds, and bridging the gap between academia and the legal profession. Sannah accepted this honorary appointment at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University for the Barrister in Residence Programme in December 2024.

Sannah continuously takes an active role in providing guidance to students/pupils including those from all backgrounds on their journey to becoming legal professionals. She mentored Bar students applying for Pupillage including practice Pupillage interviews with HerBar and carried out Pro Bono work with Advocate in the past, all whilst she was undertaking Pupillage herself. Sannah also judges local mooting competitions and runs an annual advocacy workshop at the University of Southampton, where she teaches practical techniques, courtroom etiquette and practice scenarios.

Sannah’s role as a barrister and mediator highlights her ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, as well as her attention to detail and commitment to achieving favourable outcomes, which are transferable skills.  She has often been praised for being tenacious in putting her client’s case and for her attuned ‘judicial antenna’, which mirrors her ability to advocate for fairness for all in her role as an Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Officer at College Chambers.

Sannah hopes to be able to provide students with insights and guidance to develop the practical skills needed to progress in their career at the Bar.
