Workshop Highlights
This interactive workshop will include an overview of patents, an explanation of how to obtain patent protection, and workshop tasks on identifying, prioritising and developing patentable inventions.
Biotech Examples
We’ll use biotech examples to demonstrate the patenting process, from catching innovations through to striking a balance between filing quickly and gathering enough data to support the application.
Practical Tips
We’ll include tips on reading patents, and extracting useful information for your research, alongside considerations for publication of commercially valuable research.
Funded Confidential Consultations
After the workshop, we encourage attendees to discuss confidentiality and more specific questions relating to their own research with Abel & Imray Patent Attorneys.
Funding is available to provide participants with professional advice on evaluation and IP protection valued at up to £2000 each. This funding is through the Bridging the Gap: A shared Technology Transfer Office Vision for West Sussex project that the Department of Research and Innovation (DRI) are leading on, and is not normally available in the university.
