This instalment of the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú's Research Futures webinar series is chaired by Leïla Choukroune, Professor of International Law and Director of the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Thematic Area in Democratic Citizenship and sees a presentation by Suresh Nanwani, Professor in Practice in the School of Government and International Affairs, Durham University; and Jack Whitehead, Visiting Professor in Education, University of Cumbria.
The talk focuses on Professor Suresh Nanwani's profession, research, and transmission, and discusses the toolkit used for global citizenship and human flourishing. Professor Nanwani is also joined by Jack Whitehead, and they discuss living educational theory research and living-educational-theory which are values-led. They offer insights on how the research and theory can be used to improve the practitioner: one must continuously learn from oneself and from others to discover more human flourishing in society.
Speaker's Bio:
Professor Suresh Nanwani has more than 30 years' development work experience in international organizations including the World Bank and he was formerly Counsel at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Advisor at the Asian Development Bank. He has a PhD in Organization Development from SAIDI Graduate School of Organization Development, Philippines; LLM degree from University College London; and LLB degree from the National University of Singapore. He has lectured in various countries including Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Peru, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
