Over the course of his legal career, the former Indian Supreme Court Justice, B.N. Srikrishna, has played a key role as expert and mediator in a large variety of complex socio-political environments.
From 1993 to 1998 he presided over the "Srikrishna Commission", which investigated the 1992–93 Bombay riots. His independence and expertise have been recognised in a large variety of judicial and non judicial settings. Rapporteur to the government of India on issues of arbitration, data protection or finances, he has been able to bring together scholars and practitioners of different backgrounds and opinions.
A student of Indian philosophy and jurisprudence, Justice Srikrishna's approach is informed by a genuine interest for culture and spirituality.
In conversation with Prof. Leïla Choukroune, B.N. Srikrishna will look back at his unique legal career and reflect upon issues of justice and rights in a comparative fashion.
