The PlastiCity Project – Solutions for ‘Lost Plastics’ in the Circular Economy Framework

1 hour watch

In this edition of the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú's Interdisciplinary Webinar Series, , Professor of International Law and Director of the Thematic Area in Democratic Citizenship, hosts a presentation by Semih Sagmanli, Senior Research Associate at the Department of Strategy, Enterprise and Innovation of ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú.

Urban areas in the Interreg 2 Seas region are one of the biggest producers of plastic waste in the European Union. While these plastics often are perfectly eligible for recycling, they do not always find their way into the right recycling scheme. The main objective of the PlastiCity Project is to find ‘lost plastics’ in urban areas and develop replicable strategies and solutions to increase recycling rates in urban environments from 20-30% to over 50%.

In this webinar, results from the identification of replicable strategies and scenarios stage of the project will be shared.
