At our brand-new Waltham Forest campus, you'll train in all aspects of business and marketing, regardless of your background or experience. Use our flexible, technology-enhanced learning spaces to discover marketing concepts and theories, and choose specific marketing topics to specialise in. You’ll also explore other topics shaping the digital sphere, including big data, customer experience, social media marketing, brand identity and reputation, and marketing ethics and sustainability.
Through case studies, simulations, and business projects, you can apply your knowledge to real-world situations and industry problems. You'll use the same professional data sources top marketing agencies and organisations use, such as Mintel, Statista, MarketLine, Euromonitor's Passport, and WARC (World Advertising Research Centre).

- A second-class honours degree in a Business subject, or equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications.
You don't need a marketing, computing or maths background to study this course.
Please get in touch if you're not sure if your undergraduate subject is relevant to this degree.
Equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications will also be considered, such as previous study, employment, voluntary work and training courses, including courses and qualifications you didn't complete. Learn more about our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
If you're applying as an international student with a non-UK degree, you’ll need to show you meet the UK entry requirements listed above.

Additional costs
These course-related costs aren't included in the tuition fees, so you'll need to budget for them when you plan your spending. Additional costs could include:
- Accommodation: Accommodation options and costs can be found on our .
- Recommended reading: You can borrow key texts from the library and if you choose to purchase these texts they may cost up to £60 each.
- General costs: Such as photocopying, memory sticks, printing charges, binding and specialist printing. We suggest budgeting £75 per year.
- Final project transport or accommodation: where necessary, which related to your research activities. The amount will depend on the project you choose.
Modules
What you'll study
All modules on this MA Digital Marketing course are core.
Using key analytics tools and live data, you will learn to identify data sources, apply consumer behaviour theories, communicate insights, and evaluate the benefits and limitations of analytics data.
The module develops your proficiency in drawing together information and translating analytics into actionable insights for managers. You will gain in-demand skills to unlock the value of data for competitive advantage.
You'll learn key ESG concepts and frameworks to evaluate organisations' ethical and sustainability practices. Then, you'll use real-world case studies to analyse how leading companies communicate ESG efforts to diverse stakeholders like investors, consumers, employees and NGOs.
By the end of the module, you'll be ready to make informed strategic decisions that consider long-term sustainability and ethics.
You'll discover core UX concepts and learn to conduct research, test ideas and build interfaces that are optimised for engagement.
With an emphasis on accessibility, you'll evaluate guidelines and directly apply design principles that cover strategy and aesthetics to build more inclusive digital products.
You'll analyse digital concepts and propositions within the current media landscape, creating and applying strategies to real business scenarios.
By evaluating and implementing key tactics, while considering legal and ethical compliance, you'll finish this module equipped to clearly communicate complex digital solutions to clients and stakeholders.
In the dynamic world of marketing, research is a cornerstone for making informed decisions, understanding customer behaviour, and staying competitive.
Through this module, students will explore a wide range of research methods and tools tailored to the marketing field.
Through hands-on experience with leading platforms and real-world cases, you will learn to create and manage campaigns, understand target audiences, maximize ROI, and maintain consumer trust.
By the end of the module, you will be able to justify decisions using theories, evaluate data, differentiate platforms, and consider legal, ethical and cultural contexts for responsible social media marketing.
Students will address a specific area of marketing need, in line with their degree specialisation. The module is structured around marketing agency concepts, with regular client and team meetings replacing seminars. Learning is supported by a set of lectures and seminars.
Students will develop skills in teamwork, client management and presenting and analysing marketing data, and learn how to integrate marketing concepts from across their degree studies. As well as equipping them with project management concepts, skills and tools.
The dissertation serves as a culmination of the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the marketing program, allowing students to explore a specific area of interest in-depth.
This module provides the framework, guidance, and support necessary to undertake original research, critically analyse findings, and communicate results effectively.

How you'll spend your time
We recognise that you'll probably be juggling more demands when you do your Master's degree, as you may be working or you may have family responsibilities.
We'll give you as much indication here as we can of how much time you'll need to be on campus and how many hours you can expect to spend in self-directed study, but please note that these indications are always subject to change. You should receive your full timetable several weeks before you start with us.
Course structure
You'll study this course over 15 months.
Each 15-credit module will include about 150 hours of study time, with roughly 25 scheduled classroom hours.
Each week, you should expect to spend about:
- 10–12 hours in classes
- 21 hours doing your own study, either alone or in a group---this may include research, reading, coursework, and project work
You'll complete your major project during your independent study period.
Master's study is deeper and more specialised than an undergraduate degree. This means you'll focus on something that really matters to you and your career as you work closely with academics committed to the subject.
You'll spend more time in independent study and research than you did for your undergraduate degree, but the majority of your teaching time will be in-person and face-to-face.

During your second semester, you’ll work on your Collaborative Marketing project with other students. You'll start working on your major independent project alongside it.
With support from your supervisor, you'll research your topic for your independent project and write your submission. You’ll submit this project at the end of your third semester, which will be in either September or May, depending on when you started the course.
Throughout the course, you can test your skills informally before any assessments that count towards your final mark, and you'll get feedback on all of your assessments.

The Master's academic year runs from September to the following September. There are breaks at Christmas and Easter. Over the summer you'll be writing your project / dissertation.
February/May start
Courses that start in February and May have the same amount of teaching as September-start courses, but they normally run over a longer time period.

While studying, you will complete a Collaborative Marketing Project in a small team where you will work with companies and university departments to understand their situations and recommend marketing improvements.

Unlike undergraduate applications, which go through UCAS, applications for this Master's course are made directly to us.
There's no deadline for applications to this course. We accept applications right up until the start dates in September, February and May, as long as there are places available. If you wait until your start month to apply, you may find that the course is full.
