Here's all the information you need to study with us

Entry requirements for students from Algeria

If you're joining us from Algeria, the entry requirements you need to meet will depend on the course you want to study.

We consider all applications we receive. However, to make sure you get the most out of your time studying with us and have the best chance of applying successfully, we recommend the following minimum qualifications:

Foundation

If you take the Baccalauréat or Baccalauréat Technique/Commercial with a minimum score of 10–11 points (sans mention/passable), you will usually need to do a Foundation year before going on to an undergraduate course. We recommend you take a foundation course at our associated college,

Undergraduate

If you have a Baccalauréat with a minimum score of 15/20 (bien) you'll usually be accepted to International Year 1 at

You must have studied relevant subjects and achieved strong grades.

If you don't have a Baccalauréat, you can apply with:

A levels

  • Please check your specific course page to find the exact number of points needed. Your A level grades should equal or exceed the total points required. You can use the UCAS Tariff Calculator to work out your total points.
  • Some courses will require you to have studied specific subjects at A level. For example, to study a science course you will usually need to have achieved passing grades in scientific subjects at A level.
  • A level points: A* = 56 A = 48 B = 40 C = 32 D = 24.

International Baccalaureate

  • Most courses will require between 24 and 31 points in the International Baccalaureate (IB), depending on the degree you apply for.

You may be able to join an undergraduate course with other qualifications. We do consider qualifications from a range of sources. Contact us to find out more.

Information for Muslim students

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú is a multicultural and very welcoming city that's home to people of all faiths and cultures interacting – and as a Muslim student, you will not stand out or feel out of place. There are two mosques in ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, as well as many locations on campus and in the city to get certified Halal food.

The Islamic Society of ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú (ISOP) is one of the most active societies on campus. They give everyone a chance to increase their awareness and knowledge of Islam, practice their faith and get involved in various activities. They also organise weekly Jummu'ah prayers for both brothers and sisters at Islamic prayer rooms on campus, one for brothers and one for sisters, with ablution facilities. You will also be able to speak to chaplains from all faiths, including Islam, at our university chaplaincy.
