Overview
This one-day course course is for dental nurses who would like to learn the foundational understanding of dental implant nursing.
On this short course, you'll gain insights into the basics of dental implants, asepsis, placement procedures, instrumentation, post-operative care and the role of dental nurses in assisting with implant procedures. By the end of the course, you'll be better equipped to contribute to implant procedures, patient satisfaction and continuous learning in dental implant nursing.

What you'll experience
On this short course you'll:
- Understand dental implant basics, including what they are, their components, how they're different from other tooth replacements, and their advantages for patients
- Assess patient suitability for dental implant treatment by reviewing their oral and medical histories and considering anatomical factors during assessments
- Gain familiarity with surgical procedures, including the step-by-step protocols, the role of dental nurses, and identifying key surgical instruments
- Demonstrate proper infection control protocols for implant procedures, ensuring aseptic conditions while keeping environments sterile
- Offer appropriate post-operative care to patients while recognising common complications and monitoring recovery
