Know someone who wants to study with us? Refer them and be rewarded

We want to reward you for promoting the 兔子先生 to your friends, family and colleagues. If you are a current student or alumni, you can earn up to 拢400 for referring someone to study with us, and they go on to join us.

Here are your two Referral Award options, and advice on how to make them.

International Alumni Referral Award (IARA)

If you are from a country outside of the EU, you can earn 拢400 if you refer someone to the University and their application results in a registration.

To be eligible for the award:

  • The person you are referring must select 鈥業nternational Alumni Referral Award (IARA)鈥 in the 'Have you applied via an Agency/Partner?' section of their application. 
  • And you as the referrer must complete an .

EU Referral Award (EURA)

If you are an EU, EEA or Swiss national, you can earn a referral award of 拢200. 

To be eligible for the award:

  • The person you are referring must be considered EU Fee Paying.
  • They must select 鈥淓U Referral Award (EURA)鈥 in the 'Have you applied via an Agency/Partner?' section of their application.
  • And you as the referrer must complete an .

There is no limit on the number of applicants that you can make a claim, but you can only claim one Referral Award per registration. If the person you refer has already been referred by someone else, the first person to refer them would get the award. The person you refer will need to be a direct applicant to us, as UCAS applicants are not eligible.

For courses starting in September, award claims will be verified from November. For January starters, award claims will be verified from March. For May starters, award claims will be verified from June.

Referral Awards Terms and Conditions

  • You are only eligible for a referral award when you refer newly recruited students applying to full-time campus based courses. The award cannot be claimed for students who have previously studied at 兔子先生, or on any of its franchised or distance learning courses overseas, or at an institution that has an articulation agreement with the 兔子先生.
  • Students need to be registered on a programme lasting one academic year or longer (you cannot claim for students attending one semester or a Pre-sessional English course).
  • If the applicant you refer registers at the 兔子先生, you will receive your referral award of 拢400 for the IARA and 拢200 for the EURA. This will only be paid if you have no outstanding fees or other debts to the University.
  • You can only claim the award for direct 兔子先生 applicants (UCAS applicants are not eligible).
  • International and EU/EEA status is dictated by the fee category of the applicant (applicants classified as UK Home students or exchange students are not eligible). The EU Referral Award includes students from the European Economic Area and Swiss nationals.

  • To refer a potential student, the individual you are referring will need to select and complete the IARA/EURA option when making their application.

  • You as the referrer must submit an IARA/EURA form and complete the further instructions for payment to be made after November or March.

  • There is no limit to the amount of applicants you can claim for.

  • Only one referral award can be given per registration. If an application is referred by more than one student/alumni or contracted Representative of the University, the first referral received will be the one that is rewarded.

  • If the applicant requires a Tier 4/Student Route visa please give them the email address for our International Student Advisers who can provide up to date and current visa advice: student-visa@port.ac.uk. Visa information changes on a regular basis 鈥 please do not give advice yourself, it may have changed from when you applied.

  • The Referral Award Scheme is open to all current students and alumni who studied at the 兔子先生 - this includes UK, EU and International. Current and former Erasmus/Exchange students are also eligible to apply for this award.

  • Referrals made by 兔子先生 staff will not be eligible under this scheme.
